How am I keeping myself busy at the time of lock down?

As I write this blog, I am on DAY 36 of the lock down that Government of Nepal has enforced since March 24th, 2020 to prevent community spread of CoVID-19.

As a Public Health student, I have learnt and been acquainted with the term "Stress and Coping Mechanism".
No, no, don't worry; I am not here to teach you the basics of Public Health but with everything been closed down, with restrictions in mobility, the scary count downs of deaths and cases all over the televisions and social media, admit it: It's stressful to handle everything.

We normally don't take an account of mental health when we talk about well-being. In this unprecedented time of pandemic, it is nothing new to be anxious or getting panicked over everything.

When most of everyone in social media are taking various challenges and showing off their culinary skills or hidden talent, I followed the bandwagon too. So, here are few things I did to keep myself busy throughout the 36 days. Well, I will be lying if I say that I ain't bored to be home but, I am happy to be spending my time doing the following:

DID NOTHING!!! The first few days, I did nothing... When the government announced the lock-down for the first 10 days, I swear, I did nothing. It was high time for me to take a break from my on-going mundane life. I just wanted to relax and contemplate my life [NO!! I didn't do that]. I just kept myself away from everything. So, I did nothing at all. I woke-up late in the morning, did nothing, and slept early. Well, well, well, when you live your parents, your doing NOTHING vaccay ends-up a bit early but I just chillaxed (CHILLED & RELAXED) for the first 3 days or so.

ROOM DECOR:  As fancy as it sounds, I did nothing special to improve the aesthetic of my room. However, I did something that I loved.
My room wall. Shows the mandala I have made

My favorite one among all
So whenever I used to see beautiful houses in Pintrest or in any other website, I used to see rooms with beautiful quotes. I had few quotes in my mind to start off with. So, what I did was I got few discarded cartoon pieces from office and showed off my calligraphy skill. I was proud of doing something creative and eco-friendly initiative for my room.
Nevertheless, one day I might wake-up and look at those pieces and think to myself- "Why on earth I did this?", I am happy about it for now.

MANDALA MAKING:  I love making mandalas. They require a lot of patience and concentration- which I think I lack both of the attributes in me. So, I opted for a simpler mandala. Not a perfect one but it has already gone in my wall. I had started another one as well, but, I think that may take some more time to complete.

COOKING: I don't say I enjoy cooking, because I am lazy. I can stay hungry or just boil noodles and spend my entire life, so, I don't like to cook. Except, there are few days, when I think I can make the most delicious food that I can challenge the Michelin star chefs!!! (That's me being arrogant) So, in these 36 days, I have tried my hands on few recipes and I enjoyed making them. May be that is why, my clients (my parents) were happy about them.

TIKTOK-IN': No, please don't cringe. I do have Tiktok account and make those 15-60 seconds videos. I like and enjoy doing the drama and I think I am pretty good at it. So, after the social media detoxification of tiktok for few months, I downloaded tiktok again and made few videos. But, it was a very difficult thing to do: getting dolled up everyday and lip-syncing to songs and dialogues so I have uninstalled the app again. I think I made around 10 videos in these 36 days of lock-down.

@Aasu1403 This is my Tiktok account, if you want to watch my drama!!

BINGE WATCHING: It's a difficult thing to do when you stay with your parents where you're expected to go to bed early and get up early and help them in kitchen as well and do other daily chores as well. However, I managed to watch the everyone's favorite MONEY HEIST-4 seasons in 4 days. And also there have been days when I watched 4 movies consecutively in a day. I somehow manage to watch at least one movie per day and it's just fun to keep your eyes stuck at the laptop.

Talking to my favorite human: These days locking up oneself inside the 4 walls of home can be a torture but being constantly in touch with your loved ones can be a stress buster.

SUNSET VIEWING: I am a sunset-loving person and I have witnessed some beautiful sunsets during the past few days. The calmness of sun getting dimmer, the color of sky and the joy of watching the birds fly to their nests during this part of day soothes me. And, listening to music is cherry on the top. It's peaceful.
Yesterday's sunset

Not just sunset, but also thunder

TAKING CARE OF MYSELF: I am a proud narcissistic and love to take care of myself. However, I rarely get the enthusiasm and time to do indulge myself in self-care in normal days. Now, I have been watching various videos in YouTube and taking care of my hair and body. So, if that makes me a self-obsessed narcissist, I am proud to take that tag.

BLOGGING AGAIN: Finally, on DAY 36, I had the motivation to blog again and share with you all whatever I did.

I hope you enjoyed my rant and my writing...

There are still few things like exercising and book reading I wanted to do but didn't have time to do or I was just lazy to be frank.
