The Affair

Nothing ever hooked me up with my laptop like the T.V. series, The Affair, has been doing me for a week. I've been spending most of the (recent) sunny days inside my room staring continuously at my laptop. After finishing the hilarious comedy show: The Big Bang Theory, I opted for this show based on it's cover photo--I'd never heard of the show before.

The show started with bright and colorful summer and eventually ended up being dark but the screenplay is definitely able to keep anyone intrigued.
Season-1 Episode:1 was a bit confusing for me and I'd no idea why the two main characters: Noah and Alison were explaining their story in their own version. Gradually, the story unfolded to a murder mystery or an accident but kept a secret about which character died. In my mind I had lots of guesses and the suspense was tight.
By the end of Season-1, we at least know who dies and of course we know about the affair. I was impressed by the way the story unwrapped itself and the way it was showcased until the end of Season-2.

I've learnt about information bias in my epidemiology class and there has been loads of recall/information bias in story-telling by different characters which keeps you glued to your seat. While I was watching this show, I kept thinking, "Whose story is a lie and who is a real antagonist here?", "Whose story shall I believe?"
Season-2 ends with a dramatic ending which I don't want to disclose here.

Though I was equally curious about Season-3, some part of it was a bit predictable for me. For example when Noah was attacked for the third time in the room, I'd figured it out, it must have been his hallucination and the attack was only his imagination. Also, Season-3 was not that thrilling to me as Season-1 and Season-2. While the first and second seasons were flawlessly smart, I felt the third one tried hard to leave an impression on me. But, it is still a crime story and was exhilarating.

The Affair has everything in it: love, lust, happiness, tears, success, failure, craziness, family drama, relationships falling apart or blossoming, suspense, crime, murder everything which held me tight and if you watch it I hope it will do the same to you as well . The story telling is beautiful and while watching the show, I am sure your head will automatically build up theories about what will happen next, but to your dismay, that won't happen and so you want to watch it more. So you'll always want to know, "What's next?"

I am looking forward for the fourth season. I hope the script writers are developing something very interesting for us!!

If you haven't watched "THE AFFAIR", I recommend you would.

The cover photo ain't extra-ordinary but I was intrigued to watch it.
And also the opening song by Fiona Apple is just perfect for the show!!

(P.S. This is not a review. I just wanted to write something about it) :)
