The perks of being single (in Nepalese society)...Yayy!!
Last night, as I was talking to my school friend over phone, we realized most of our friends are happily married by now. We "SINGLES" from our batch can easily be numbered in your fingers and to my amazement, only 6-8 of the girls out of more than 50 girls in our batch are single till now. And the irony is that, the married girls have school going kids and we were still talking about our school days.
FUNNY!!
FUNNY!!
So, does that bother me? If I say no, I'd be lying.
BUT it's my mom who is in such a hurry to tie my knot and see me as a bride that freaks me out!

Just few hours ago, before blogging about my feelings here, I'd Skyped my mom and as usual she was worried about my marriage. Most of our Skype call is either about my marriage or the terrible weather in Copenhagen.
I think, except me, everyone is concerned about my marriage and that worries me as well.
(And watching everyone concerned about it, I feel how lucky I am to be loved by everyone ;))

I wouldn't be wrong to state that most of the Nepali girls are married off before their 25th birthday. And it's obvious that my mom is highly concerned by this scenario, 'coz I am already 3 years later than the trend.
So, am I sad? Hell, NO!! (though it bothers me that I am not married yet, but I am not sad).
This is why, I wanted to list few things (I see in me) that doesn't make me sad about not being hitched yet that may help you single people out there.
FREEDOM: Do I need to explain this? I have all the freedom I want in my life. One reason for this could be that I am away from home but at least I don't have to think, "What will my in-laws think?" or "Will my husband allow to do certain things like getting inked or partying late night?" Well, I don't have to think of all these!! I am freeeeeeeeee.
Living my life: When someone asks me, what were you doing till now, I say them "I was making my dreams come true" and indeed I am doing that. I have check marked most of my to-do-list before I find someone whom I need to explain my crazy list of activities. Isn't that cool that I control my own life.
I have few girl friends who need to report in details of everything they do. I definitely don't have to do that because I am living my life the way I want to till now.

Love and pamper myself the way I want to :) Shop heavily and be broke for the rest of the month--DONE!! Dine like a princess some day and sleep empty stomach if I want to---DONE!! Take bike and go for an instant hike--DONE!! Dance when my landlady is asleep---DONE!! I do whatever I feel like and there is no one to judge me..Yay!!
No marriage comes with no kids as well. ;) Not that I hate kids, I love kids but having them around 24*7------- I am not ready yet and you know marriage comes with having kids (ASAP in Nepalese community).
Have my own name: I love my family name (DAHAL) and I don't want to change it ;)

I think having freedom is the most important of all. In any sense, I don't mean that my married friends don't have their freedom but there is always a compromise that comes with marriage (especially arrange marriage) so, I am having the time of my life and dear future husband, wherever you are, I am eager to compromise, don't worry!!

And I am eager to meet my vinaju!
