The fuss on AIB-Knockout!!
As
an honest subscriber of various channels in you-tube, (I am calling myself an
honest here, because my day both starts and ends up with the videos in you
tube), I wanted to write something about the fuss regarding the so made
controversy of AIB-Roast. Yeah!! It doesn't get in my head that why is there so
much going on about it, after all, that's just a normal video that is uploaded
in you-tube. Why is it that star struck that it has been the major concern of
the media for every "Indian" celebrity to put at least a question on
this topic, regardless of the event they are attending. As a hindi filmy spicy
news enthusiast, what I found the most hilarious are the controversy stories
that are being made up after this famous controversial show!!

I
wouldn't have bothered to spend my time writing this article until I watched so
many interviews (thanks to you-tube again) regarding the reaction of the
Bollywood stars on this show. Well, some of them have supported it while, some
of them are against this Insulting comedy show. While the entire Bollywood
(media) is going gaga over it ('coz every once in a while, the bolly news has
some fresh news on this topic), I enjoy the "For and Against"
comments of the people in you-tube.
I
learnt it today that AIB put off the 3 part video from their channel. When we
normally discussed about it in my home with my siblings, I found my brother had
no idea about it. I thought was I the only one who was so crazy with everything
that was going on right now in you-tube!! Whatever. Now writing this doesn't
make me a supporter of this program but neither I am against it. I enjoy watching the AIB videos. I am especially impressed with their presentation
skills. The way they managed to satire the rumors or be it anything, I like them. And here, I do not say I like them all but I enjoy watching them all.
The
same was the case with the Roast too. After so much of hype given to it, I was
waiting eagerly for the show in you-tube. I watched a day after it was
uploaded. Till then, there were not much rumors and hullabaloo regarding it. I
searched for it, watched the first part. The way Arjun and Ranveer made their
entry, I thought it must be something interesting. And then it exploded. A panel
of judge would come and stand in the podium and make fun of Arjun for being a
high school drop-out, and Ranveer for his playboy nature, Tanmaya for his fatty
body, Raghu or Rajeev for his brutality in Roadies, someone else for his
complexion, and some one for his virginity and religion, KJo for his sexual
orientation and at last thanked and appreciate the courage of the two hunks for
being roasted publicly. I thought what really is it? Then the second part
comes. I was expecting something more but the same thing continued added with
Sonakshi's overweight, Alia's famous IQ and so on. I wanted to put an end to
it, but then the 3rd part left me with curiosity but alas! nothing new. I
thought what a waste of time. For me, that was only a waste of time, but the
live audience had paid 4,000 bucks for it. They must have really enjoyed it,
watching the stars get roasted. The same moment I learnt about the Hollywood
franchise of the same show. I even watched it. Then I thought, if the stars had
no problem in getting defamed visibly, why would I have any problem.
Given
a choice, I wouldn't watch that show again was what I said to myself. After
all, it's my freedom to either watch it or reject it. That's why, it is social
media. We have a freedom to share our feelings. Now, when I think about it,
even I can't stop myself from appreciating for what Arjun, Ranveer along with
KJo (in front of his mother) along with the whole panel of judges did. That
requires a hell lot of courage. If they were okay with their insults, why is it
a matter of headache for the third party? The stars enjoyed and so did the
audience and you have the liberty to either watch it or discard it. All the
controversy has created all of the sudden a curiosity in me to re watch the
show.
What
I don't understand is the controversy that is going on. It was well known to
everyone that the show was an A certificate show. I don't think the audience
were forced to watch the show. They had paid a hefty amount (and some part of
the collections was even donated) so they deserved some spicy show. I don't
think it deserved such harsh comments after all no one was forced to watch it -
be it live or in you-tube. Having said this, enjoy the show (though I didn't)
and at least don't disgrace the stars. They have been roasted and yet they have
wide smile in their face. :D
