and the most awaited Magh 8 is here...
(While there are lot of talks going on about Magh 8, the news frustrated me too.. While watching the news, I wrote this and with few modifications, here is my share for the "day").
It's Magh 7th, just a day before the FINAL DAY or the deadline of what we all Nepalese had been eagerly waiting for, for 2 times- THE CONSTITUTION.
It's Magh 7th, just a day before the FINAL DAY or the deadline of what we all Nepalese had been eagerly waiting for, for 2 times- THE CONSTITUTION.
In a lazy
Wednesday afternoon, I turned on my television and what I see is all the 14
Nepali channels with only one question popping in the corner of the screen- "संविधान कहिले ?" I laughed out loud. C'mon, are you all
still expecting of some fairy tale miracle that will let a magic wand to jot
down all the regulations and policies of this country in "A Day",
which has been an impossible mission for the people we elected, to
accomplish in a year.
And the funny part,
that too, after three continuous days of the malevolence our members of council
have shown to the world! What a shame must it be, for we all Nepalese to see
the so called "Honorable" (माननिय ज्यू ) of our
Constituent Assembly throwing chairs and destroying the property of our country
that were either a "DONATION" by some of our rich and kind neighbors
or bought with the tax paid by the countrymen, to revolt the government. Those Councilors
were so intensely involved in the destruction game, that they would surely gift
us our constitution with a broken and disassembled CA hall. In fact,
there seemed to be a competition going on among them on demolishing the public
property, and they would be awarded with a gold medal after that. That was
disgusting to witness what we all had to forcibly see in the media. While
changing the channels, I remembered the poem we read while we were kids which
was " यो नेपाली शिर उचाली संसारमा लम्कन्छ , जूनकिरी झैँ ज्योति बाली अन्धकारमा चम्कन्छ ". Bhupi Sherchan must have witnessed something
praiseworthy that he wrote in this poem for our ancestors but in the present
context, I believe our CA members have already shown their lunatic behavior to
shine the name of Nepal and the Nepalese. (They surely deserve a round of
applause for this outrageous demeanor).

And another thing
that really stroke me while watching the demonstration going on was, "Do
every one exactly know what they are fighting for or are they just blindly
supporting their leaders to show their loyalty?" A big question I guess ,'coz
all I could hear is people cutting their throat for "चाहिंदैन चाहिंदैन , पाइंदैन पाइंदैन" in
the crowd.
I normally hate
watching news, especially the political news of our country because every time
I did so, I would be the spectator of the same rehearsed, mugged and parroted
speech from our INTELLECTUALS quoting, "देशमा संविधान नबने देशले ठूलो दुर्घटना बेहोर्नुपर्छ ". And I guess, those people who
showed us such an indecent misconduct the past few days must have appointed
themselves as the savior of their country and countrymen. And now, after a
year, they must be ready to protect us from the दुर्घटना that they always knew would come.
As a citizen of
Nepal, trying to get updated about the latest events going on in the country,
sitting in front of the TV, leaving everything aside, I don't see a pint of
guilt and humiliation in the faces of those people. NO! I am not only talking
about the protesters standing in front of the rostrum and raising their hands,
voice and cell phones (to capture their own video which they think is the best
they are giving their civilians) with cunning smile; but I am referring this to
each one of them who gave speech about handing constitution to us, we Nepali,
just a year ago. May be the main agenda of giving a constitution to the people
must have slipped off their head, of our Honorables.
The violence was
not only seen inside the CA hall, where the peoples' favorites, damaged
property worth 30 lacks in a day (or say mid-night); but their brutality was
also seen to the plants that were once planted to make our city attractive
during the SAARC summit. As far as I know, the expenses made during the summit
to impress our fellow country leaders is not paid off yet, and the great
Nepalese citizens have already damaged it. Those people must be very glad, filled
with pride, walking with their chest held high perishing the public property in
the name of their Nepal Banda
activities. And the most what stunned me, was given by Mr. Prachanda Dahal who
said that was the cheap shot of some extraneous group to defame their party
character. D'oh! Do you still think we are going to count on you for this?
Haha!! Like all of
us, even the politicians are waiting for some supernatural power. Let's see if
all the political parties are really gonna be answerable and accountable to the
question of their people who have actually voted them and given rights for such
annihilation. Tomorrow, 8th Magh, will all they be apologetic for their
unpropitious act or continue the same promises and mid night meetings? Time
will say this.
If this is to go
on like a merry-go-round, I am sure, most of us won't feel the need of
constitution anymore. We are really tired of the broken promises and wasted
time and feeding you people 'coz with due respect to late P.N.Shah "साना दुख्खले आर्ज्या मुलुक हैन , सबैलाई चेतना भया "
