HELLO TECHNOPHILES!!!

We love these toys called electronic GADGETS these days which have made our day to day life easy to go and may be we have turned out to be Technophilics, but there are somethings that give us immense pleasure the way they used to be back on those old days.

I hate reading E-Books. I know, buying every single books for today's generation may sound a bit absurd but I'd rather enjoy reading every pages of the books and smelling them. My friend once told me that she could not enjoy the book installed in her laptop lying in bed. True!! (Well, that is why they must have invented things like Kindle to compensate this problem.) I can hold the book, carry it in my bag, don't need a charger or cell to start that thing and read it wherever and whenever I feel like. Well, at least I prefer the real books to the electronic books.
Back in college days, teachers always used to suggest us to go to library and refer to the books arranged in those racks. But we always tried the easy way round- Turning on the laptops and "Googling"!! Thousands of suggestions are provided within no time, so why waste of time turning the pages was what I used to think. But the in-depth knowledge that the books provide us; no PDFs can provide that. The search engines may save our time but the glory of reading books has something of its own.

And how many of you still enjoy cherishing your memories in photo albums? I know, this digital world has gifted us with digital cameras with which posing, clicking photos and editing has been everyone's cup of tea.
Even I love to capture the moments as much as I can but viewing photos in your digital gadgets is one thing and holding the photo album in your hand and turning pages and analyzing the tits and bits of photos without zooming them takes me to the seventh heaven.

While discussing this matter, my mother went back to her good old days when she used to make plans to watch movies. Requesting my grandparents, gathering her girl friends and waiting for Holidays or Saturdays used to be her exercise to watch merely a movie when there were no VCDs or CDs or Youtubes or any movie downloading sites. And after all these, they had to travel for an hour or two for the theater. I don't say it was an easy job but making plans and waiting eagerly for the day just to watch their favorite actors and actresses must have a charm of its own. These days we have mobiles, I-pads, Laptops and CDs, pendrives and Youtubes, online sites where watching movies is just like pushing a button away but the delight of watching movies in a cozy multiplex or even single plex with friends or family is just incomparable feeling for me.

And last but not the least that I have suffered in my own home is my little brother sitting in front of that box called gaming console holding his armor called Joystick and getting stuck with the games. He is happy when he scores a goal in computer or fulfills a mission in a war game or earns coins in another game and gets a victory over his sister in sub way surfer which are all fictional. I am not totally against these games but he gets on my nerves when he spends his money in buying those game CDs and doesn't let me touch the computer even for a second.

Even my mother must be tired of me when I try to socialize myself with my facebook friends. Out of near about 350 friends, I may only be in contact or have talked with half of the friends in my real life. One side of the coin says that this networking site has made me a bit friendly but on the other side, when I get out of this e-world, I am still an INTROVERT!!

Well, writing all these doesn't mean that I am a Technophobe or I am resistant to the miracle that the technology has added in my life but I still love reading books than e-books and have started making a collection of books that I have read, meeting friends and watching movies with them, refreshing the memories with photographs over a cup of tea, playing hide and seek or even ludo. I love technology and the luxury and comfort that comes along it but I also love doing things that were once done wholeheartedly in those old good days. May be I am stuck between these two things!!!
